Objective: Internet addiction is a disorder of impulse control and an inconsistent pattern of Internet use that leads to significant distress or disorder and causes psychological, educational, and occupational problems in one's life. Our main objective in this study is to identify the causal relationship between emotion regulation and spiritual intelligence regulation strategies with a tendency to Internet addiction with the mediating role of imposing distress on students of Islamic Azad University, Tehran Central Branch. Method: The statistical population of the present study was 19- to 35-year-old Internet users at the Azad University, Tehran Central Branch. Sample size was selected based on simple random sampling method of 353 people In this study, descriptive statistics and inferential statistics were used to analyze the data. At the inferential level, the Kalmogroff-Smirnov, Pearson and Regression tests were used. Computer and SPSS software versions 21 were also used for statistical calculations and analysis. Confirmatory factor analysis method was used to investigate structural equations. Results: The results showed that the direct effect of discipline on endurance and Internet addiction and the direct effect of spiritual intelligence on endurance and Internet addiction is significant. Also, the indirect effect of ordering on Internet addiction with the mediating role of anxiety tolerance and the indirect effect of spiritual intelligence on Internet addiction through anxiety tolerance is significant. Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, it can be stated that regulatory strategies, intelligence through endurance tolerance have an effect on the rate of Internet addiction and to reduce Internet addiction should pay more attention to these variables.
