The Comparison of Effectiveness of Religion Based Cognative Behavior And Positive Psycho Therapies On Self Criticism And Distressing Psychological Of Infertile Women Ahvaz city

Introduction: Feeling of inability respecting fertility and common social reactions in society towards the infertile women might be the causes of many psychological pressures for this indivdulas. Therefore, the aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of religious cognitive-behavioral therapy and positivie psycho therapy on self-criticism and psychological distressing in infertile women of Ahvaz metropolitan.
Methods: The research method was experimental with pretest-posttest, control group and follow-up. The studied statistical population consisted of infertile women who had referred to infertility medical and health centers in 1399 for infertility treatment. 60 subjects were selected as sample by purposive sampling method and randomly assigned in two treatment groups; religion based cognitive-behavioral therapy and positivie psycho therapy and control groups, 20 indivdulas each. To collect data Thompson and Zeroff (2004) Self-Criticism Scale and Kessler et al. (2002) Psychological Distress Scale-10 were implemented. Data were analyzied by applying multivariaye analysis of covariance (MANCOVA) and Bonferroni post hoc test using SPSS-24 software.
Results: The results showed that in the post- test and follow- up stages, religious cognitive behavioral therapy and positivist psycho therapy were effective in reducing self-criticism and psychological distress (P <0.001).  The finding also indicated that in the post-test and follow-up stages, no significant difference was observed between the effectiveness of the two interventions on self-criticism and psychological distress (P <0.05).
Conclusions: The results showed the effectiveness of religious behavioral cognitive therapy and positivity psychotherapy in reduceing self-criticism and psychological distress in infertile women. It is recommended that these methods be used as complementry therapies along with other medical therapies..
