Introduction: The aim of this study was to predict personality components based on functional nervous systems in nursing students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences.
Method: The study population consisted of all nursing students of Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. The sample members were 350 (200 females and 150 males) nursing students who were selected by simple random sampling method (sample size was estimated according to Morgan table). Adult form personality questionnaires and Wilson personality questionnaire were used to collect data. The present study was a descriptive correlational type and the data were analyzed using simple correlation coefficient and simultaneous multiple regression.
Results: Statistical findings showed that the value of R2 coefficient is equal to 0.504, which means that functional nervous systems (inhibition, activation - reward, activation - driver and innovation) 50.4% of the variance Explain the unusualness of the character. Findings also showed that all four predictor variables have a significant role in predicting personality abnormality, so that the variables activation - reward (p = 0.001, β = 0.528), activation - driver (001 /0p =, -0 = -0.188) and nouveau riche (p = 0.001, -0 = -0.417) positively, and inhibition (p = 0.001, β = 0.541) negatively predict the character abnormality Have.
Conclusion: According to the findings of the present study, abnormal personality components are rooted in the natural and biological structures of personality. Accordingly, in order to better study them, special attention should be paid to functional nervous systems.
