Introduction: Cancer is a chronic disease whose diagnosis in children will have increasingly adverse psychological and emotional effects on the family, so the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of resilience training on psychological well-being and emotions of families of children with leukemia. Methods: This study was a randomized clinical trial intervention that was conducted on 62 caregivers of children with leukemia referred to Amir Kabir Educational and Medical Centerin Arak. The samples were divided into two intervention groups (31 people) and control groups (31 people) using simple random assignment. Before the study, the Riff Psychological Well-Being Scale (RSPWB) and the Positive and Negative Affect Questionnaire (PANAS) were completed by the samples of both groups and then the study began. The samples of the intervention group underwent resilience training during 9 1-hour sessions in a group (once a week). During this period, the control group samples did not receive any intervention. After 9 weeks, the questionnaires were completed again by the samples of the two groups. Finally, the data were analyzed with SPSS version 16 software and using descriptive and inferential statistical tests. Results: The results of the study showed that there was no significant difference between the psychological well-being score, positive and negative emotions in the two groups before the intervention (P>0.05), but after the intervention, the psychological well-being score, positive and negative emotions in the intervention group were significantly higher than the control group. (P<0.05) Conclusion: Resilience training is an effective method for increasing psychological well-being and positive emotions in caregivers of children with leukemia.
