Background : Women with breast cancer face numerous physical and psychological health problems that reduce their health level. The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of forgiveness-based mindfulness therapy on health-promoting lifestyle in women with breast cancer. Methods: The present study was a quasi-experimental applied study with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group. The statistical population included all women with breast cancer in Mashhad, of whom 30 who had been referred to the Imam Reza (AS) Oncology Clinic in the first half of 1404 (AH) were selected using the convenience method and then randomly assigned to two groups of 15 people, experimental and control. The experimental group received mindfulness-based therapy for 8 sessions of 2 hours. The Walker et al. (1987) Health-promoting Lifestyle Questionnaire was used to collect data. To analyze the data, mixed analysis of variance method was used with the help of SPSS-26 software. Results: Comparing the health-promoting style scores in the pre-test and post-test in the experimental group showed that mindfulness-based therapy significantly increased the health-promoting style scores (p≤0.05). Conclusion: It can be said that forgiveness-based mindfulness therapy improved health-promoting style in women with breast cancer. All mental health professionals are advised to use this approach in their treatment sessions with breast cancer patients in order to improve physical and psychological health and move towards a healthy lifestyle.
