Introduction: Infertility has led to adverse consequences in the world. Fertility potential can influence the social status and self-esteem of some women. Motherhood is one of the most important roles of women in adulthood. This study was conducted with the aim of determining the effect of psychological-behavioral counseling on the anxiety of infertile women through virtual education.
Materials and methods:
The present research is a clinical trial with the approach of an intervention and a control group which was carried out in 2018 with the participation of 60 infertile women in Isfahan. The intervention group received cognitive-behavioral training and counseling virtually in the form of voice. Thus, the samples received five 30 minutes of training and counseling voice for 5 weeks. Data were analyzed by paired t-test and covariance with SPSS version 20.
Results: Based on paired t-test for mean, anxiety score of the subjects in the control group in the post-test was not significantly different from the pre-test (p = 0.386) but in the intervention group score of the subjects in the post-test compared to the pre-test was reduced significantly (P<0.001).
Conclusion: Virtual counseling decreased the anxiety score in the intervention group. Considering the clients' emotional states and the fear of successive failures that sometimes occur in the process of infertility treatment, virtual counseling seems to improve anxiety in infertile women.
