Although quality educational services are a complex concept so it is important to clarifying and exploring the related components. The study aimed to describe the components underlies to quality educational service in a cardiac rehabilitation program qualitatively and introduce some of the related problems. Methods: This is a qualitative study using qualitative content analysis method. Study population consisted of health practitioners working at health & research centers affiliated to Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, cardiac patients including inpatient and out patient service users and their assistants (family members). Data were gathered through conducting unstructured interviews with a purposive sample of 25(consisted of 3 physicians, 6 nurses, 1 dietarian, 13 patients and 2 patient assistant). The study was begun at 1386 and data analysis was completed at 1388. The rigor of the study was achieved applying Guba and Lincoln directions. Results: The concept of quality educational services in cardiac rehabilitation is described using four underlying concepts namely fittingness, comprehensiveness, authenticity and orderliness that are the elements of quality educational services in the cardiac rehabilitation program. Based on the findings, paying attention to audiences’ special needs and capabilities are important determinants in providing quality educational services in the cardiac rehabilitation program. Hereby the audiences could receive the trustful and responsive services. We suggest organizing the education and information giving routs. It would result in service comprehensiveness that could save the service taking opportunities. The existed problems were inadequate fittingness, poor coordination in the services and poor referral system that were resulted in poor response to some of the audiences needs. Conclusion: "Quality educational services" is a context based concept. Considering the cardiac rehabilitation, it was emphasized on providing need based services fitted to users' capabilities, attending to various bio-psycho-social aspects at both person and family levels and serving the services through predefined and coordinated pathways. It is necessary to nurses as one of the key members of cardiac rehabilitation team that consider such emerged elements in service management and direct care delivery to the cardiac patients and their families. Future researches on emerged concepts are worthy to suggest.

At the present time, caring management approach (process reengineering, total quality management, learning organization management resource development) have an important role in human resource development. This study explores the determination of effective approach in human resources development, of nursing managers. Methods: In this exploration study, a list of effective factors in human resources development was prepared. After wards, by using the expects, opinions, several polls were taken and at last seven factors were chosen. In the next step, the priority of factors was determined by the pair comparison method and four criteria and their weights were chosen by EC pro software. Consequently, the four approaches which were identified in the previous section were studied with analysis heiress presses. Results: In this study, the factors affecting human resource development of nursing managers include: setting a common goal developing systematic insight, communication freedom and sharing (exchanging) information operation, taking suggestions, increasing work insight and access to the operation of and educational backgrounds of employees. Based on the experts' opinions, learning organization is the best application ever known in human resource development in nursing. Conclusion: The findings of this study suggest that the reinforcement of learning organization's insight in nursing management is an effective way in human resource development. It has some benefits for client, care givers and health institution. But always, many concerns prevent health care provider to perform this important and necessary intervention. This study was conducted to clarify these concerns from the perspective of the nurses. Methods: This was a qualitative study. The study question was what is the experiences and perceptions of nurses about their worries regard to error declaration or what factors affect this concerns? Purposeful sampling was used. The data was gathered by semi-structured focus groups with 115 nurses of two major university of Iran. The data was explored and analyzed according to inductive content analysis. Results: The data was classified in four groups, patient reaction related concerns, immediate manager reaction related concerns, job position related concerns and negative experiences from past error declaration incidences. Conclusion: According to the undeniable effects of "declaration of error to the patient and/or the family" on increase of safe care and reduction of error incidents, health providing system must reduce the concerns of health care providers in this area and provide appropriate context (situation) for this important caring intervention. Along with that, the reasons and benefits of error declaration should be increase by purposeful education of care givers especially health care managers and it is necessary that rules and regulations (Terms) of error declaration impose (pass) and all health care agencies should be informed to run them. (They should be communicate to run) 800 nursing Survey on the Motivation of Nursing and Midwifery Students toward Their Field of Study Selection- Nursing and Midwifery School-1387 dalir zahra n shojaeean zahra o khodabandehloo zahra n mashad ums o ghochan azad ums 1 4 2011 6 20 44 51 29 05 2011 Introduction: Motivation is considered as an important factor in students’ learning, skills achievement and finally educational achievement. Regarding to this fact and importance of performance in graduated nursing and midwifery students, this study aimed identifying the motivation of nursing and midwifery students toward their field of study selection. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic study, 200 nursing and midwifery students of Mashhad University of medical sciences were selected by classified-cluster sampling method at random in second semester 87-88. The tools for data collection include: demographic data form and Motivation Questionnaire consist of 10 motivating factors classified in two parts: intrinsic and extrinsic motivating factors by using content validity and Cronbach's Alpha reliability (0/80). These data were analyzed using descriptive (frequency table, mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation). Results: Based on findings, the total mean scores of motivating factors were 33.46±6.43 that was in the average level. Intrinsic motivating factors score was higher than extrinsic. t-test showed a significant difference between nursing and midwifery students in some motivating factors such as “social reputation and respect of career” (P<0.001), “family advisability” (P=0.034), “having more welfare benefits” (P=0.037) and “more employment possibility” (P<0.001). The first 3 factors scores were higher in midwifery students. ANOVA test showed, there was significant difference between students’ motivating factors rate with father’s educational level (P=0.006) and mother’s job (P=0.004). According to Pearson correlation test, the higher semester (P=0.009) and age (P=0.008), the less intrinsic motivation. Conclusion: According to results, the motivation of students toward field of study selection was in average level and intrinsic motivation decreased during course study. So, it is possible to effective empowering motivation and preventing break down intrinsic motivation during course study, through organizing educational programs for professional identity development and consequently better opportunity for students’ performance. 801 nursing The effect of family-centered empowerment model on the Quality of life of school-age asthma children taimori fatemeh alhani fatemeh kazemnezhad anoshirvan tarbiat modarres u tarbiat modarres tarbiat modarres 1 4 2011 6 20 52 63 29 05 2011 Introduction: Asthma is a common disease in children and decrease asthmatic child's quality of life and has main effects on family function.The nurse's roles to increase their quality of life. Thus, the purpose of this study is to investigate effect of family-centered empowerment model on asthma school-age children's quality of life. Methods: This is a Quasi-experimental study with cluster random sampling. 7 elementary schools from one of the 19 Tehran's areas selected randomly and these schools divided randomly into case group (4 schools) and control group (3 schools). The data gathering tools was consisted of demographic information questionnaire and general Peds QoL and asthma Peds QoL questionnaire of child. Validity and reliability were done. Group discussion, demonstration and educational participation were used for empowered children and their parents.the questionnaires were filled by children and their parents in pre and post test. Results: These were no significant difference before the intervention between the two cases and control groups in terms of demographic characteristics and Qol of children. While, independent t-test showed a significant difference between the two groups means of the general and asthma Peds Qol before and after the intervention. Also, the paired t-test showed a significant difference before and after the intervention in the case group in terms of the general and asthma Peds Qol (P<0.0001). Nurses are particular member of health care team and have pivotal role in health promotion in individual, family and community. This survey examined nursing students' and educators' views about nursing education in Iran. Methods: In a descriptive cross sectional study, researcher-developed questionnaires were completed by 700 students and 200 teachers of State and Azad School of nursing & midwifery. Probability sampling was done. Chis square were used for statistical analysis under SPSS v.14. Results: Results showed that in students, greatest mean score were in educational setting but in teachers were contrary. Based on teachers’ views, student-teacher ratio was not proper. Both students and teachers have the same opinion about lack of educational resources. According to students views, lowest mean score belong to educators. Also, there are significant correlations with some part of demographics. Conclusion: Educators and students evaluated several aspects of nursing educational system in Iran. Therefore, we can measure quality of life in order to assess impacts of disease and therapeutic procedures. To identifying client problems, it is necessary to assess quality of life dimensions such as physical, spiritual, economic and social aspects. In this regard, researchers conducted a qualitative research to explore quality of life and its dimensions in ostomy patients referred to Iranian ostomy association. Methods: In this qualitative study, 14 patients were interviewed about their quality of life dimensions. Interviews were analyzed using content analysis method. Results: The main themes emerging from this study included physical problems related to colostomy, colostomy and psychological conditions, colostomy and socio-familial relationships, colostomy and economic difficulties, colostomy and nutrition, colostomy and physical activity, colostomy and travel, colostomy and religious issues and colostomy, and sexual problems. Conclusion: The findings of the study showed challenges in quality of life of patients with ostomy. The results can be used by health care providers to create a supporting environment leading to promoting quality of life of patients. 804 nursing The relationship of medication errors among nurses with some organizational and demographic characteristics hajibabaiee fatemeh jolaee soodabeh payravi hamid hagani hamid ahvaz ums tehran ums tehran ums tehran ums 1 4 2011 6 20 83 92 29 05 2011 Introduction: Medical Errors (Iatrogenesis) constitute one of the major challenges for health systems in every country. The most common kinds of these errors are the medication errors of nurses which have negative impacts on patients, nurses as well as organizations and result in poor quality of healthcare. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship of nurses' medication errors with some organizational and demographic characteristics. Methods: This is a descriptive-analytic study conducted on 286 nurses working in internal, surgery, orthopedics, and gynecology and obstetrics wards of selected hospitals of Iran University of Medical Sciences using the stratified multistage sampling method in 2009. The data were collected using questionnaire designed by the researcher and was analyzed using descriptive statistics and Kruskal-Wallis and independent T test. The software program was SPSS14. Results: The average number of medication errors as in three months per nurse was 19.5 cases. Among personal and organizational characteristics, gender (P<0.000) and attending classes instructing medication administration (P<0.03) were significantly related to medication error. “Administering multiple oral drugs simultaneously” was the most frequent medication error in this study. Conclusion: The fact that the frequency of medication error in this study was altogether higher than studies conducted in other countries highlights the necessity for further attention on the part of nursing managers and authorities. Healthcare providers must identify the causative factors and apply strategies to reduce these errors.
