Philosophical studies and thoughts in Iranian nursing sciences were related to the necessity of changing the Iranian nursing thought frameworks, based on Islamic- Iranian- Shieh philosophy and providing the nursing care models based on these philosophical thoughts. Also Philosophical studies and thoughts focused on the role of postmodernismand Gilles Deleuze's philosophy on global nursing. The Iranian nursing philosophers emphasized on the necessity of using philosophy in nursing education and criticized western nursing philosophies including liberalism.
Discussion:
Nursing policy makers should encourage that nurses have a deep look at philosophical thoughts.More importantly, in order to reduce the challenges in providing education, research, management and nursing care based on Western philosophies, it is suggested to develop theories based on Islamic- Iran- Shia philosophy.
