Abstract:   (1797 Views)
In recent years, the world has been profoundly impacted by artificial intelligence (AI), a remarkable human innovation. Various individuals and organizations are leveraging AI according to their missions and objectives. One of the prominent fields where AI has been optimally and progressively utilized is research (1). Nursing science is no exception to this trend. Undoubtedly, conducting specialized research is essential for the growth and advancement of nursing knowledge and skills. Like all other disciplines, nursing must adopt tools that align with the latest technological advancements (2).
AI can be applied to research in several ways, including designing innovative research ideas, predicting future research outcomes, improving research quality through more accurate data analysis, intelligently drafting precise research reports, and utilizing AI in studies with larger sample sizes, thereby yielding more accurate findings. These findings can assist in forecasting future trends in nursing care (3).
Furthermore, AI can enhance nurses' decision-making processes by integrating clinical data with predictive models, enabling nurses to make more informed and precise decisions in patient care. This not only improves care quality but also reduces the risk of medical errors. However, employing AI in nursing research presents specific challenges, such as ethical concerns related to patient privacy and the potential over-reliance on algorithms in place of human judgment. Therefore, AI should be seen as a complementary tool that supports, rather than replaces, the expertise and experience of nurses. Ultimately, the integration of AI in nursing research promises new opportunities for enhancing patient health and care. Despite the challenges, AI's potential to improve research quality and clinical outcomes is undeniable. It appears that AI will not only be a fundamental tool in future nursing research but also has the capacity to revolutionize the delivery of nursing services (4).
