Introduction: Disability is one of the consequences of aging, the most common type of which among the elderly is physical-motor disability. This type of disability can cause dependence on other people to perform daily activities and thus lead to a lower quality of life. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the factors affecting the quality of life in the elderly with physical-motor disabilities referred to hospitals affiliated to Babol Medical Sciences in 2020. Methods: The present study is a cross-sectional descriptive analytical study which was conducted on 200 elderly people with physical-motor disabilities referring to three selected educational and treatment centers of Babol University of Medical Sciences (Ayatollah Rouhani, Shahid Beheshti and Shahid Yahainejad) with quota sampling method (according to physical-motor disabilities, age and sex) from December to March, on 2020. To collect data in this study, demographic characteristics form and World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale - Short Form (WHOQOL-BREF) were used. Data analysis was performed using independent t-test, analysis of variance and Scheffe by SPSS version 20 software at a significant level (p≤0.05). Results: The present study findings showed that the subjects’ mean age was 72/25 ± 8/45. 58% of the elderly were women and 42% of them were men. The average score of quality of life was 54/50±21/23. It was also determined that the average score in each dimension of physical health (the lowest score), mental health, social relationships, and environmental health (the highest score) for quality of life was, 50/35, 55/68, 58/04, and 62/90, respectively. The quality of life had a statistically significant relationship with the variables of education level (p ≤ 0/001), employment status (p ≤ 0/001), living situation (p ≤ 0/001), income level (p ≤ 0/001), and the presence of underlying health conditions (p ≤ 0/001). Conclusion: Considering the findings of this study, it seems essential to pay attention to the factors related to the quality of life of this group of elderly individuals in educational, supportive, therapeutic, diagnostic, rehabilitation, and counseling programs, as well as in providing specialized services for elderly people with physical-motor disabilities.
