The compairsion effectiveness yoga training based on mindfulness and self management on self- destructive behaviors in adolescents

Introduction: Self- destructive behaviors are seriously threatening health and wellbeing, and increasing the likelihood of physical, psychological, and social consequences. The purpose of this study was to compairsion effectiveness yoga training based on mindfulness and self management on self- destructive behaviors in adolescents.
Methods: This experimental study was conducted with a pretest-posttest design with control group and follow-up. The statistical population of this study included all the female students high school in Karaj city in year academic 2018-2019 and 45 student were considered as the sample size in two experimental groups (each group of 15 student) and control (15 student). The experimental groups underwent approach yoga training based on mindfulness (12 sessions 90 minutes) and self management training (12 sessions 90 minutes), but the control group received no training. To collect data inventory of statements self-injury of Glenn and Klonsky. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-24 software in two sections: descriptive and inferential (analysis of variance with repeated measures and Bonferroni).
Results: The results showed that both of the interventions used in this study can significantly improve the self- destructive behaviors. But the approach self management by Bonferroni has a greater impact on the improvement of self- destructive behaviors.
Conclusion: Based on the results of this study, yoga training based on mindfulness and self management are effective interventions on self- destructive behaviors in adolescents, but the effect of the self management was greater.
