Introduction: Psychological problems such as depression, anxiety and stress play an important role in the psychological condition of adolescents, so the present study was determining the effectiveness of reality therapy in psychological disorders (depression, anxiety and stress) of adolescents.
Methods: The research method was semi-experimental with a pre-test - post-test design and a control group with a follow-up period. The research population included all secondary school girls in Birjand city in the academic year of 2021-2022, 30 of who were selected by available sampling method and randomly replaced in two experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). And they responded to Lavibond and Lavibond (1995) depression, anxiety and stress scale. The experimental group participated in eight reality therapy intervention sessions, but the control group received the usual intervention. In the data analysis, repeated measurement test between groups was used with SPSS version 20 software.
Results: The results showed that the average scores of depression, anxiety and stress of the experimental group compared to the control group decreased significantly in the post-test phase and this decrease remained stable in the follow-up phase (P<0.01).
Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, reality therapy can be considered as an effective intervention method in reducing depression, anxiety and stress of teenagers
