Abstract:   (10 Views)
The present study aimed to examine the role of family cohesion and family attributional styles in predicting emotional self-efficacy among adolescent girls. This research employed a descriptive-correlational design and was conducted as a field study. The statistical population consisted of all adolescent girls enrolled in secondary schools (second level) in District 1 of Shiraz’s Department of Education during the first semester of the 2024–2025 academic year, totaling 11,896 students. Based on Krejcie and Morgan’s table, a sample of 374 adolescent girls was selected. Data were collected using the Emotional Self-Efficacy Scale developed by Kirk et al. (2008), the Family Cohesion Scale by Samani (2002), and the Family Attributional Style Questionnaire by Seligman et al. (1979). Data analysis was performed using Pearson’s correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis. The results of multiple regression analysis indicated that family cohesion (β = 0.38, p = 0.007), internal attributional style (β = 0.42, p = 0.002), stable attributional style (β = 0.35, p = 0.011), and global attributional style (β = 0.32, p = 0.014) were positive and significant predictors of emotional self-efficacy among adolescent girls. In contrast, external (β = -0.29, p = 0.024), unstable (β = -0.21, p = 0.035), and specific (β = -0.26, p = 0.029) attributional styles were found to be negative and significant predictors of emotional self-efficacy in adolescent girls.
