Introduction:The Buss-Perry Aggression Questionnaire-short form (BPAQ-SF) is a validated measure of aggression across various populations and become the gold‐standard for the measurement of aggression. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Farsi version of the BPAQ-SF among juvenile delinquents in Iran. Methods:A total of 269 participants completed the Farsi form of the BPAQ-SF, BPAQ and The Novaco Anger Scale. For the psychometric evaluation, we used confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and bivariate correlations. Results:The mean age of the participants in this study was 16.79 ± 1.71 years. The Farsi version of the BPAQ-SF yielded scores with robust reliability (internal consistency ranging from 0.82 to 0.93, and the Intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) varied from 0.65 to 0.93 with moderate, good, and excellent results) and adequate convergent validity (correlations with the BPAQ and NAS ranging from 0.57 to 0.78). We found that the four-factor model fit the data better than the other measurement models (χ2/df = 45. 354/35 = 1.295, RMSEA = 0.034, CFI = 0.997, TLI = 0.973, SRMR = 0.03). Conclusions:Results support and extend previous findings suggesting that the BPAQ-SF is a valid and reliable measure of aggression among juvenile delinquents in Iran.
